RTA Road Registration Process

To register your imported vehicle with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), follow these mandatory steps:

  1. Inspection: Take the vehicle to an RTA test center for a physical inspection.
  2. Insurance: Purchase valid vehicle insurance upon successful inspection.
  3. Submission: Submit the Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC) we provided, along with your credentials, to the RTA official.
  4. Vehicle Re-Export and Duty Refund: If you plan to re-export your imported vehicle from the UAE, you may be eligible to claim a refund of the customs duties paid.

Refund Process Essentials:

Re-Export Declaration: The process requires clearing an official re-export declaration.

  1. Physical Inspection: The vehicle must be physically examined and match the import documents.
  2. Proof of Exit: You must submit proof of export (e.g., Exit/Entry Certificate, Bill of Lading, or Airway Bill).
  3. Submission: Submit the Refund Claim application online or at a Customs Center.

Re-exportation, for a duty refund, must typically occur within a specified period (often six months) from the date of the original import declaration, and the vehicle must be in the same condition as when imported (not locally used or damaged).
